Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci has made her way back to the Guinness World Records (GRW) as the holder of the largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice.

The new record comes barely two years after she won her first record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) in 93 hours and 11 minutes.

In a post on X, Guinness World Record said, “new record: largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg achieved by Hilda Baci…”

Hilda cooked up the record breaking jollof rice with “4,000 kg of washed basmati rice (the rice had to constitute at least 80% of the total weight), 164 kg of fresh goat meat, 220 kg of Gino Asun & peppered chicken cubes, and 600 kg of her own jollof pepper mix.”

According to GWR, Hilda shared the exact measurements of all stipulated ingredients, meeting the rules of the record.

The 28-year-old said it took “nine hours of fire, passion and teamwork” and 1,200 kg of gas to create the 16,600 plates of rice “served with joy, love and community”.
