Kenya and Senegal have agreed to lift visa restrictions for citizens of both countries for a period of 90 days.
This means citizens traveling to either of the two countries will not need visa fees, a move widely hailed by champions of visa-free Africa.
The agreement falls in line with the African Union (AU) 2063 goal of ensuring a borderless continent which allows Africans to move freely, trade and live without visa restrictions.
President William Ruto, making the announcement said the two countries intend to strengthen their relations and unlock opportunities which will remove trade and investment barriers.
“We have also agreed to lift visa restrictions for our citizens, allowing visa-free travel for up to 90 days. This milestone will foster stronger people-to-people ties while boasting tourism, trade and collaboration,” he posted on Facebook.
